Assistant Marine Officer Instructor

Staff Sergeant Marquez enlisted in the Marine Corps on 25 August 2014 from Houston, TX, and underwent recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina. She graduated recruit training in November 2014.  She then reported to The School of Infantry for Marine Corps Combat Training (MCT) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  Upon Completion of MCT, she remained at Camp Lejeune where she attended the Administrative School and graduated March 2015.

On March 2015 Privat First Class Marquez reported to Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, where she served as an Installation Personnel Administrative Center (IPAC) clerk for Headquarters Battalion. Lance Corporal Marquez started working in the Outbound Branch of IPAC where she conducted separation packages and then went on to unit diary. On August 2016 Lance Corporal Marquez was promoted to Corporal and moved to Customer Service where she served as the Non-commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC).

2 May 2017, Corporal Marquez was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant and was selected to be an Individual Augment for Marine Central Command in Kuwait. During her deployment from June 2017 to February 2018 Sergeant Marquez served as the Ammunition Chief and the Administrative NCOIC. On October 2017 Sergeant Marquez re-enlisted and volunteered for Drill Instructor Duty at Parris Island, SC.

In December 2018, Sergeant Marquez was selected to be a Drill Instructor for Oscar Co, 4th Recruit Training Battalion (RTBN). During this time, she served as a Green Belt, Drill Instructor, Martial Arts Instructor, and Senior Drill Instructor. Sergeant Marquez’s tour enabled her to be a part of one of the first female Drill Instructor teams to work in male interrogated battalion for Hotel Co, 2nd RTBN. Sergeant Marquez was promoted to Staff Sergeant on March 2021 and completed her Special Duty Assignment in January 2022 and transferred to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) February 2022.

From February 2022 to July 2023, SSgt Marquez became the 15th (MEU) Administrative Chief. She attended the Intermediate Administrative Specialist Course summer of 2022, which is a voluntary but highly Military Occupational Specialty School. While with the 15th MEU, she masterfully managed all 17 functional areas of the S-1 Shop to include scheduling assist visits and preparing for a future Marine Corps Administrative Analysis Team inspection in 2025. Staff Sergeant Marquez submitted a package for AMOI and was approved in December 2022.

Staff Sergeant Marquez transferred to Headquarters and Support Battalion July 2023 to be able to execute Permanent Change of Station orders for Assistant Marine Officer Instructor. In July of 2023, Staff Sergeant Marquez received orders to NROTC, Houston Consortium to serve as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor.
