Maj Eric Kroeger, USMC

Executive Officer and Associate Professor of Naval Science

 

Major Kroeger was commissioned in 2011 through the United States Naval Academy.  Following The Basic School, he attended Naval Aviation Flight Training in Pensacola, FL and Corpus Christi, TX and was designated a Naval Aviator on 14 Mar 2014.

In September 2014, Maj Kroeger was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152) aboard MCAS Iwakuni, Japan as a KC-130J Pilot where he was involved in operations throughout the Pacific Area of Responsibility. During his time with VMGR- 152 he participated as a member of Joint Task Force 505 in Operation Sahayogi Haat, a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operation following the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015. Additionally, he participated in multiple unit, joint, and multi-national training exercises around the world. These exercises included Cobra Gold 2015 in Utaphao, Thailand; Northern Edge 2015 in Anchorage, AK; Balikatan 2016 in Angeles, Philippines; Red Flag 16-2 in Anchorage, AK; Pitch Black 2016 in Tindal, Australia; and Northern Edge 2017 in Anchorage, AK.

Following his assignment at VMGR-152, Maj Kroeger was selected to attend Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) at Marine Corps University in Quantico, VA for academic year 2017-2018. After graduating from EWS, Maj Kroeger reported to Officer Candidates School in Quantico, VA as an augment academics instructor and small unit leadership evaluator.

In September 2018, Maj Kroeger was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 252 (VMGR-252) aboard MCAS Cherry Point, NC. While assigned to VMGR-252, he graduated from Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 2-19. In June 2020, Maj Kroeger deployed with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response Africa 20.2 to Moron, Spain as the Operations Officer for the VMGR Detachment.

Maj Kroeger joined the NROTC Houston Consortium in May 2021 and serves as the Executive Officer.
