LT Trevor Hansen

Assistant Professor of Naval Science and Nuclear Programs Officer

Lieutenant Trevor Hansen, a native of Katy, Texas, earned his commission in 2018 through Officer Candidate School following graduation from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics.

His first sea tour was a split tour aboard USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79) and USS Stout (DDG 55). While aboard Oscar Austin, he served as the Fire Control Officer. Aboard Stout, he served as the Combat Fire Control Division Officer and Operations Intelligence Division Officer. During his time aboard Stout, he deployed to the U.S. Fifth Fleet in support of Operation Sentinel and qualified as Officer of the Deck (Underway) and Surface Warfare Officer.

Following his division officer tours, Lieutenant Hansen completed the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in Charleston, South Carolina, attending Nuclear Power School and the S5G Prototype. He subsequently reported to USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), where he served as the #1 Propulsion Plant Reactor Mechanical Division Officer. He deployed to the U.S. Sixth Fleet in support of Neptune Strike and Juniper Oak. While aboard, he qualified as a Nuclear Engineering Officer and later served as the Deputy Reactor Mechanical Assistant, also qualifying as Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW).

Lieutenant Hansen reported to the Houston NROTC Consortium in January 2025, where he serves as an Assistant Professor of Naval Science and advisor to midshipmen pursuing commissions in the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
